LSVT LOUD ® Milano, Italy
In late September, Dr. Jessica Galgano, founder and executive director of Open Lines, traveled to Milan, Italy to train over 60 speech therapy professionals in administering LSVT LOUD® treatment. The two-day program included a series of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice involving volunteers with Parkinson’s Disease. Dr. Galgano is one of eight certified LSVT LOUD faculty instructors worldwide. LSVT LOUD is an intensive, evidence-based treatment protocol used for individuals with PD. It has also shown to be effective in the treatment of speech and voice disorders due to Atypical Parkinsonisms, Cerebral Palsy, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, and changes associated with aging voice.
