Adult Neuro ICAP: Kinds of Errors
After a stroke, an individual with aphasia may make errors when speaking.
These errors make having a conversation challenging for both the speaker and the listener. Two errors people with aphasia commonly make are semantic and phonemic paraphasias. A speech-language pathologist can help individuals speak with fewer errors and more closely monitor and correct speech so they can more easily and successfully have conversations.
